We deliver, support and promote a broad range of music education opportunities for children and young people both within schools and in the community.

after-school and Saturday Centre, holiday courses, events, and creative projects
at our new premises at The Fellowship Star and in collaboration with Hub
partners organisations.
As well as offering instrument hire,
instrumental and vocal lessons (for individuals, groups and whole classes),
music theory classes, bands and ensembles and CPD and training for
professionals, Lewisham Music is diversifying to include music production,
songwriting, rap, cross-genre creative programmes and more. We also have received significant funding to
deliver programmes focused on Equality Diversity and Inclusion, mental health,
and supporting the talent of children from low-income households.
Our core work is with 5-18 year olds but we
are work to expand our reach to include Early Years and adults.

The role
Lewisham Music are looking to recruit
musicians/educators specialising in piano/keyboard and songwriting to join our
tutor team.
This role will support a new
specialist area of growth for the Charity and therefore may be limited at first
until demand grows.
We are seeking
applications from:

Musicians/educators
who are specialists in piano/ keyboard, with a particular focus on songwriting
and who are eager to utilise this knowledge in the education of young people in
both school and community settings. The role will involve delivering
workshops/sessions as part of Lewisham Musics school and community programme,
including delivery of individual and group sessions often for children and
young people facing challenging circumstances.
Location
Work can be across the borough of Lewisham,
and occasionally further afield.
Our new premises at The Fellowship
& Star is on Randlesdown Road, SE6 3BT.
Our Saturday Music Centre runs at
Prendergast Vale School, Elmira Street, SE13 7BN.
Pay
Lewisham Music Standard Music Tutor
rate (inclusive of holiday pay):
From £30.35 per hour
