The Community Chest was set up in 2013 to fund projects that will make a difference to the Phoenix community. Since then, we have awarded £900,000 to 100 projects benefitting more than 21,500 people.. Previous projects have covered a wide range of activities, from family away days to African drumming classes.
We believe that these projects help create a stronger community and support our residents to gain new skills and access experiences and opportunities that may otherwise not be available.
As part of Lewisham’s Borough of Culture, we’ve opened up a special round of applications to local community groups in the area to apply for £12,500 for projects that will benefit Downham, Bellingham and Whitefoot.
The Borough of Culture Community Chest Fund is a chance to be part of a programme of cultural events taking place in the area in 2022. You can find out more about Lewisham’s Borough of Culture here.
