Part-Time Performing Arts Tutor

What we’re looking for

 

Adult Learning Lewisham requires an experienced part time performing arts tutor to join the Art, Pottery and Performing Arts team. We are looking for a tutor able to take on established classes and also to expand our provision through introducing new, exciting art classes to our programme based on their skills and experience. There is the potential to take on daytime, evening and cover classes at the Brockley Rise centre, London SE23 and the Granville Park centre, London SE13.

We are looking for tutors who are able to teach any of these subject areas – acting, drama, theatre studies, scriptwriting, improvisation, screenwriting, poetry, dance, preparing for auditions, and employability in the performing arts industry.

 

Salary details

 

£28.96 – £31.18 per hour

 

Further information

 

The post requires the tutor to:

  • Deliver all aspects of an performing arts class of approx. 12 adult learners of varying ages, backgrounds and abilities (from complete beginners, through to those with more experience). 
  • Produce and complete course documentation to support teaching & learning – for example; scheme of work, lesson plan, electronic registers, and developing IT based resources for the course virtual learning environment.
  • Support the learners to achieve the set course & individual learning goals and complete the relevant Individual Learning Plan documentation for this.

Applicants must have relevant training/qualifications and professional industry experience in their area of expertise. You will have experience of delivering performing arts classes in a variety of settings. For example in schools, adult education or private classes. The ability to teach a range of subjects both in-person and online would be an advantage.

They must also be willing to gain a recognised first stage adult teaching qualification if they do not already have one.
