The National Saturday Club gives young people aged 13-16 from years 9, 10 & 11 a unique opportunity to study Art & Design every Saturday morning at various museums, colleges and universities across the UK. The weekly workshops will be facilitated by a professional artist who will support the young people to develop their creative skills and gain an accredited Bronze Arts Award.

The National Saturday Art & Design Club Volunteer will mainly be based at the National Maritime Museum and will also support the Summer Show at London’s prestigious Somerset House. As Saturday Art & Design Club Volunteer you will spend half a day mid-week working with the Formal Learning Producer to prepare session resources and one Saturday (see above dates) supporting the Saturday Art tutor to deliver the sessions.

You will also have the opportunity to work alongside professional artists and attend a Masterclass with leading professionals, giving them unique insights into areas of work and study that they might consider in the future.

The voluntary position is suitable for anyone looking to gain experience of working in a creative, cultural or educational environment who is interested in pursuing a career in museums or teaching. No previous experience is required as this exciting role offers training as well as the chance to develop your skills.
