Orpheus are currently seeking a self-motivated, skilled and experienced individual to become their Musician in residence. This role should focus on using a range of musical skills to engage and inspire students in their musical education, specifically to help them develop song writing skills as well as teaching them to play musical instruments.
At regular intervals Orpheus produces a piece of music theatre with material generated as far as possible by the students, involving staff and students appearing together on stage and with professional standards of set, lighting and sound. These can be staged in the barn theatre, or in one of a selection of nearby local theatres. These are an important showcase to demonstrate to the outside world what Orpheus students can achieve, and the artist-in-residences contribution to the success of this will be a significant part of the job.
Salary: £200 per day for 14 hours per week
