Music Participation Leader

Lewisham Music Service are looking for an inspirational and experienced music leader to promote, develop and manage out of school instrumental and vocal programmes for schools and young people in Lewisham.

You will co-ordinate Music Services and Music Hub after school and weekend music programmes, projects and live events as well as developing effective music learning progression routes for young musicians in Lewisham.

This part-time post would suit a music teaching practitioner who has substantial experience of leading instrumental or vocal lessons for young people as well as experience of leading ensembles. A highly skilled musician and inspirational teacher, you will also work well as a member of the Lewisham Music Service Management Team. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills are essential for this post.

Other duties include:

• Monitoring the quality of teaching and learning

• Facilitating the sharing of good practice

• Delivering and co-ordinating continuing professional development

We may ask you to teach a group of pupils on your instrument as part of the selection process. We will provide further details of this if you are shortlisted
