To be eligible for a position on the Apprenticeship scheme you must:
Be over the age of 16 and under the age of 25
Not have already achieved a qualification higher than a level 3 please note we cannot accept applications from graduates
Have full residency entitlement, there must be no restrictions on your
status in the UK (all successful candidates will need to produce their
passport once a job offer is made)
Have GSCE A* C in English
and Maths or the equivalent ability (all potential applicants will be
expected to complete an initial assessment at a local college)
These roles are based in the London Borough of Lewisham and candidates must be resident in the borough
The Apprentice’s duties will include
The successful candidate will carry out tasks to help promote a wide
range of events to diverse audiences. Day to day activity will include
keeping print displays up to date, hosting market stalls with the wider
staff team and talking to the public about events at the Albany,
drafting marketing materials including tweets, emails and facebook
posts, talking to other venues and local businesses about
cross-promotion, and a range of other promotional tasks.

Willing and keen to follow instructions, learn and to work towards a career in arts marketing and communications
With enthusiasm and passion for a variety of art-forms including music, dance, theatre, circus and participatory arts
Who is an effective and confident communicator in writing, on the phone and face to face
Punctual, organised and reliable, with a mature and professional attitude
IT literate Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
with the ability to learn and use new software and IT systems like
Photoshop and wordpress
What you will learn
Time and diary management
Team-working and co-ordination of day-to-day operations
Varied communications and marketing skills and working in a multi-art form setting across three sites
About arts venue marketing, marketing principles, campaign planning and delivery
To develop arts administration, copy writing, software and design skills
Reality check
The role involves keeping flyers and poster displays across our sites
up to date and tidy and some weekend and evening work. Were a busy and
dedicated team and we need a team player who understands the importance
of the less glamourous and exciting tasks as well as higher profile and
varied work. You need to be able to take responsibility for your
workload and to use your own initiative. The better you get on with
routine day-to-day tasks, the more varied the jobs will be.
Salary: £6.70 per hour
Location: the Albany, Deptford
Contract length: 12-months
Qualification: you will be working towards Level 3 qualification in Marketing
Days / Hours: 35 per week including release for college; you will be expected to work flexibly, and this will include evenings and weekends
Start date: Monday 11th January 2016
