Lewisham Music is recruiting for a Community Music Manager

The Community Music Manager is a new position which will be key in ensuring that Lewisham Music is offering a diverse and quality music education offer in the community.

The postholder will be responsible for the strategic development of all out-of-school provision, including the Saturday Music Centre, after school groups (e.g. Lewisham Schools Concert Band), and holiday courses (e.g. Junior Orchestra, Rock & Pop School). They will also hold responsibility for our exciting programme of community festivals and showcases such as Lewisham Live, and partnership projects such as Animate Orchestra. 

The Community Music Manager will line manage Lewisham Music’s Programme
& Events Administrator and Saturday Music Centre Manager. Other key
interactions will be with other core Lewisham Music staff and tutors, as well as
close work with key strategic and Hub partner organisations across the Borough
and beyond to ensure a joined-up approach to community music-making and
progression opportunities for young musicians.

A significant focus will be on developing an accessible and sustainable, locally focused programme at The Fellowship, including a diversification of offer through
new partnerships, genres, and the use of music technology. This will play a
crucial part in our wider ambitions to reach all communities and learners
through the power of music!
