About the role

  • Term: Until 31 Dec 2022 – extension subject to funding
  • Hours: 35 hours per week
  • Salary: £35,000 + employer 6% pension
  • Reporting to: Director
  • Location: Place/Ladywell, 261 Lewisham High Street, SE13 6AY
  • Holidays: 25 days per year, 2 annual volunteering days + bank holidays

Join the Lewisham Local team to become our new Volunteering Programme Manager at this exciting time as Lewisham becomes the 2022 London Borough of Culture. Lewisham Local is the Volunteering Partner for this programme and you will take the leading role in designing and delivering an exciting volunteering programme. As the lead organisation for Lewisham’s voluntary and community sector, you will also play an influential role in inspiring and equipping local organisations to deliver excellent volunteering opportunities as well as building upon the increase of people registering to volunteer in Lewisham during Covid-19.

We are looking for an experienced person to strategically lead our volunteering programme and team. You will have an excellent understanding of volunteering and the local voluntary sector and have your finger on the pulse of current developments and opportunities. You will possess ideas, ambition and leadership qualities to make the most of future opportunities for volunteering in Lewisham and build collaborative approaches. You will be able to engage with organisations at a local level, strategic cross-sector partners (e.g. Council, Hospital etc.) and be comfortable working with individuals too.
