The Young Vics Taking Part
department is seeking six artists from a range of creative disciplines
to develop our new Learning project alongside students and teachers. The
project is an innovative and collaborative
schools project that will explore the potential of using arts and
creativity to support learning across the curriculum.
This is an ambitious
theatre-in-education project that will see the Young Vic partnering with
two schools within the boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark, working
across all subjects in academic Years 7 and 8, to co-create
a project that radically rethinks their approaches to teaching and
learning. We are calling out to artists, facilitators and creatives who
are able to utilise their artistic skill and educational best practice
in the classroom, as well as observe, listen and
offer provocations to improve students learning experiences. We are
looking for artists who are able to work with us over one to two
academic years.
This opportunity is open to
artists and creative practitioners who are excited to apply their
artistic practice to a co-created learning process, while also providing
support and development opportunities for the
teachers and students. An Advisory Panel made up of academics, artists
and educationalists will be involved in the project from the very
beginning and will guide and advise throughout. The selected artists and
creative practitioners will enjoy working collaboratively
and learning alongside these stakeholders, as well as the Young Vic, the
school, the students and their peers.
Salary: £2,250 per school term. There will be an additional fee for training and planning paid at £150 per day
