To support the Widening Participation team in the development and delivery of our Your Academy programme. Your Academy aims to increase the ethnic and economic diversity of applications to both the Royal Academy of Music’s BMus degree and the Junior Academy programmes. Your Academy activities involve young people attending state schools and include Composers, Jazz and Percussion Club, a series of Mentor, Theory and Audition Clubs, Community First String Experience, St Mark’s Sundays and our summer schools.

The postholder will work closely with the Head of the Department and the Evaluation, Evidence and Projects Co-ordinator. Duties range from dealing with queries from staff, schools, students, parents and external partners to co-ordinating and overseeing in person and online Your Academy workshops, projects and events. The postholder is expected to contribute to the strategic development and review of Your Academy’s annual programme and to the generation of new projects and events as appropriate. They will support the evidencing and evaluation of the programme, liaise with the Events team to ensure the smooth running of the programme, and the Communications team to maintain and enhance the profile of Your Academy amongst students, staff and the wider sector.
Occasional weekend and evening work will be required for this post for which time off in lieu (TOIL) will be offered. The post may also require travel and / or overnight stays across the UK. The post is varied, challenging and offers the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young musicians.
