Instrument Technician, Lewisham Music Hub

Lewisham Music Hub is looking for a highly conscientious and efficient individual to take responsibility and make arrangements for the maintenance of instrument stock, as well as its instrument loan and repair service.

You will be enthusiastic and proactive, with effective
communication skills and have experience in working on your own
initiative.  You will need to demonstrate at least a basic knowledge of
instruments and/or electrical music equipment.

We provide an instrument loan service to schools with the Borough of
Lewisham to support their music programmes. A key role for the
successful post holder will be to work plan and prioritise a workload. 

You will:

 Collect and deliver instruments/equipment with the Borough’s schools using a Council hire vehicle as and when required

  • Monitor instrument stock and check instruments in and out of our store using the instrument database
  • Security tag new stock
  • Deal with instrument stock enquiries
  • Work 14 hours per week 42 weeks per year (term time + 3 weeks)

 Salary details

£6,315 pa – actual salary (SC3)

At busy times throughout the year we may be able to pay additional hours.
