The Project: In 2011 (dates TBC) Teatro Vivo will be re-developing ‘Adventures in Wonderland’ in Catford taking audiences on a journey through local parks, disused shops, libraries, cafes and theatres. We are looking for schools/youth groups to be part of this process with us.
Age range: GCSE students (14 16yrs). Though do contact us if you have young people outside this age bracket and are interested in the project
What we can offer: We would like to tailor-make a programme to suit specific schools/groups. This would involve an initial workshop at your premises, and free tickets to the production itself, but could also include attending a professional rehearsal as observers, and additional workshops to suit the young people involved. For example: storytelling and improvisation led by professional actors, use of language & poetry in Lewis Carrolls books led by our director, working with a professional designer on set building or costume design, or a musician on sound. We want to really build a relationship with participating groups so that young people can feel part of a professional process.
This project is currently in the early stages, with dates and exact locations to be confirmed. Costs will be kept to a minimum, with some elements (tickets to the performance, attendance at professional rehearsal) being free. Workshop cost subject to funding.
Places in this project will be limited, so if you think you may be interested or have any questions then do get in touch now, or come along to see the show in Hither Green next week.
