Help a London Child aims to give opportunities to the Capital's children and young people who experience poverty and disadvantage; have/are experiencing abuse, neglect, homelessness, violence or crime; or who have an illness or disability.

Each year there are two funding rounds, and organisations may only submit one application to HALC per year, to either the 1st or 2nd deadline.
For 2010 the first closing date has now passed (3rd June), but there is still one more opportunity to apply for a grant in 2010: Wednesday 3rd November – requesting funding for on-going, new and one-off projects starting from April 2011 and not before.
