Montage Theatre Arts (MTA) is a charity based in Deptford, south-east London and was founded in 1998 and is run by Artistic Director, Judy Gordon. It is Lewisham’s only revenue-funded arts organisation in the Brockley Ward.

The company runs up to 33 weekly performing
arts classes in
Brockley for 400 local people each week aged 3–89, plus holiday courses
for young, adults and older people from the local community.  With a respected track record for offering
excellent and vital opportunities, MTA continues to  help people from a highly deprived areas
acquire techniques and skills, develop confidence and social ability, whilst
also breaking down barriers between cultural groups and the generations. 

In the past year Montage’s work has been shown as part of the National
Theatre’s NT Connections programme, Southbank Centre, Greenwich Theatre,
Lewisham Peoples Day and many more.  Our
partnerships are growing and we are now looking for new platforms for our drama
students to perform across London.

MTA’s office is based at the Albany in Deptford, a lively community building
housing many small arts and charitable organisations, as well as its own
notable theatre. Montage’s full programme takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and
Fridays after school and from 9am till 1:15pm on Saturdays 

Classes
are managed by the Courses Manager.  The
freelance teachers will be leading classes of up to 24 children with the
support of a volunteer drama assistant in all classes during the week.  Freelance teachers are line managed by the
Artistic Director.

2014/2015


Fee
: £24 per hour
Hours: 4.25 hours per week Tue
4:14-6:30 and Fri 4:15-6:15.

Classes
are run from Prendergast Hilly Fields College, a beautiful venue in the heart
of Brockley
