For centuries, artists have found inspiration in the striking buildings – and more recently – the world-class collections of the National Maritime Museum and the Queen’s House.

Your students will explore the galleries for inspiration using art and design techniques with skilled artist educators. The artist will develop pupil’s critical thinking, observation and object enquiry skills through a mix of discussion, drawing and making activities.

The session can be tailored to your bespoke theme. The artist educator will facilitate activities, which draw on original historical and contemporary artworks, to help students unpick their theme for sketchbook and project work or exam preparation.

Some example themes:

  • Memorabilia
  • Journeys
  • Inside/Outside
  • Looking through
  • Past, Present and/or Future
  • Landmarks
  • Appropriation
  • Transformation
  • Containers
  • History
  • Identity
  • Authenticity
  • Architecture
