This provides an opportunity for students to design an artwork inspired by the contemporary art commissions, past and present, for the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square.

Commission by Yinka Shonibare MBE
We invite you to submit digital ideas to our online gallery and enter our annual competition. We welcome a variety of different art forms including drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, digital designs, and even digital film. All entries will feature in an online exhibition, listed A-Z by school.
Prizes
· The winning artwork from each London borough will feature in an official public exhibition at City Hall
· Borough winners will be entered into the London wide competition to win a visit to Yinka Shonibares studio in East London
· Second and third prizes will also be awarded
All winning students, their parent(s)/guardian(s) and a representative from their school will be invited to attend the awards ceremony, presented by artist Yinka Shonibare, at City Hall.

January 2011 Announcement of winners
March/April 2011 Prize-giving ceremony and launch of exhibition at City Hall
Judging criteria
Judges are looking for outstanding works of art of the highest quality which are:
· an exciting idea
· visually impressive
· encourages people to think about the location in Trafalgar Square and London more generally
