Folkestone Quarterhouse is seeking an artist or company to create a
project with young people in Shepway. We have partnered with six local
secondary schools and we are looking for proposals from artists with a
strong track record in participatory or co-created arts projects to
create an original piece of theatre. The purpose of this project is to
develop Folkestone Quarterhouses relationship with secondary schools
and our reputation for innovative, high quality participatory arts
projects. It forms part of Quarterhouses long term plan to develop
audiences for performance in Shepway.
Please supply a statement of interest, extending to no more than two
sides of A4. The initial application should tell us about your work and
articulate your vision for the project. This should include:
- Your interest & relevant experience of working with young people
or non-professional performers on participatory or co-created arts
projects. - Your interest in working in this part of the UK.
- An outline of your ideas for the project, including what shape the final outcome might take.
The following can be included within your two page application or as additional pages:
- A proposed timeline for the project and projected number of participants.
- A proposed budget.
- Please also supply a brief CV for the lead artist(s).
Supporting materials such as images and DVDs can also be sent,
although we welcome links to view these online as we will not be able to
return all supporting materials.
The deadline for submissions is January 19th 2015.
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by February 2nd 2015.
