The Goldsmiths Engagement Curator will be key to
establishing and enhancing the educational role of Goldsmiths CCA within the
University, and its potential as a space for people from the local area in
which to experience both contemporary art as well as the wider intellectual
life of the University, and higher education more generally.
The Engagement
Curator will create an exciting education programme designed to speak to, and
engage with members of the local community, primary and secondary school
groups, students, academics and departments throughout the University.
Goldsmiths Centre for Contemporary Art is a
contemporary art gallery on the campus of Goldsmiths University with a
programme of exhibitions, talks and events open to all.
The Engagement Curator will be key to establishing
and enhancing the educational role of Goldsmiths CCA across three main
audiences; the local and wider communities we are based within, schools and
young people, and students and staff within the university.
They are looking for an experienced artist or
educator with extensive experience in gallery or museum education to devise
innovative programming that considers the impact a new centre for contemporary
art can have within its local and wider community. They will be expected
to have extensive previous experience of strategic planning and implementation,
of working with contemporary artists and curators, and of developing ongoing
relationships with external organisations and community groups. Knowledge and
experience of current discussions within arts engagement programmes, education
policies, and national networks are essential, as are excellent organisational,
communication and administrative skills.
Particularly vital will be an understanding of
contemporary issues regarding the importance of inclusivity and will consider
how it is essential to embed equality, diversity, and inclusion as a
fundamental part of the CCA.
Please note application is ONLY through the
Goldsmiths University job portal.
