The film club launched in 2011 with funding from Sydenham Local Assembly. We run film screenings in the back room of the Golden Lion pub in Sydenham on the last Thursday of the month, as well as special events for Sydenham Arts Festival.

Popular events include DVD screenings of The Artist, Carnage, Marley and The Skin I Live In, as well as regular screenings of short films. See www.sydenhamfilmclub.org

PART TIME CO-ORDINATOR (6.5 hours per month)

The coordinator looks after the day-to-day running of the film club. Duties include:

  • programming and licensing the film programme
  • writing content for the website, Facebook and other listings sites
  • managing the production and distribution of posters/flyers
  • setting up the projector, DVD player, audio and cinema screen.

We can provide full training to the right applicant. Please send your CV and short covering letter to info@sydenhamfilmclub.org by Monday 27 May 2013.

The coordinator is supported by a small team of volunteer ushers and promoters. Ushers are required for three hours a month. Promotion duties range from one to six hours per month.

As a constituted group, the film club also requires three (unpaid) board members:

  • Chair
  • Vice Chair
  • Treasurer

At the moment, our board members are also our volunteers! Board members meet every six months, and attend other relevant meetings such as Sydenham Local Assembly.

If this sounds interesting, or if you’d like a chat about what might be involved, phone Phoenix on 07872 164601 or email info@sydenhamfilmclub.org.
