Community Focus Inclusive Arts are currently looking to appoint a Creative Arts Tutor on a
sessional basis to deliver inspiring and innovative Arts activities. They
run a range of term time courses, plus opportunities during half-terms
and holidays for adults and children with learning
disabilities and mental health needs.
Fee: £25 – £30.00 per hour (depending on project)
Key responsibilities
The Tutor is required to design and deliver innovative and
inspiring workshops / projects for young people or vulnerable adults
(depending on the project). To design projects and classes with a
focus on students wellbeing and positive mental health. To create a
positive, friendly group environment in which students feel included and
safe. To collaborate with the design of sessions or projects with
project manager. To create lesson plans in advance of teaching on an
agreed date with the project manager (to include materials list).
Write feedback and student progression reports. To record visually
and notes for Community Focus social media. The Tutor is responsible
for the day-to-day communications of the project to the Project Manager
and students regarding safeguarding or any other issues of concern.
With project manager risk assess activity in advance of delivery.
Skills, knowledge, qualifications required for position
Experience in teaching adults or children with learning
disabilities. Education to a degree standard or equivalent.
Excellent inter-personal and verbal communication skills. Positive and
enthusiastic. A commitment to the aims and objectives of Community
Focus. The successful applicant will need a valid DBS.
