The East End Womens Museum is a small charity that researches, shares and celebrates stories of East London women, past and present. In the next 15 months they will open a new building in Barking town centre. It will be a base for a new exhibition, learning and engagement programmes for schools, community, family and adult audiences.
In the lead up to opening the new site, the museum is planning a year-long community engagement and co-creation programme which puts local voices at the heart of their decision-making process. They want to create a sense of local ownership of the museum, and ensure the building designs and new community programmes are welcoming, relevant and appealing to local audiences.
They are looking for someone with relevant experience, excellent relationship-building skills and an audience-focused approach to create inclusive and impactful programmes that help put local womens stories in the spotlight.
East End Women’s Museum is especially keen to hear from you if youre familiar with our local audiences and have existing networks within Barking and Dagenham and / or Newham.
This is a part-time position, 30 hours per week (worked over 4 or 5 days). The role is contracted for 15 months (Feb/March 2021 – April/May 2022), with possibility of extension
Salary: £30,000 p.a. pro rata
