Are you an inspiring dance artist and leader who is interested in motivating a team of collaborators to bring quality dance opportunities to young people? If so, the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is looking for someone like you to work with our Step into Dance programme and Student Activities team.
This is an opportunity to work closely with the Artistic Director and collaboratively with the wider team, to develop, coordinate and improve Step into Dance and Student Activities offerings. Our aim is to focus on developing the artistic resources to deliver cohesive and effective programmes that best serve the needs of the participants.
Young people and their personal development are the main focus of our Step into Dance activities. We aim to improve the life of young people through a connection to dance that empowers them to be their best.
With a diverse and inclusive programme of weekly classes, workshops and performance opportunities, working with mainstream and SEN schools across London and Essex, Step into Dance aims to reach those that might not otherwise connect with dance and to deliver positive physical and mental health benefits.
Step into Dance offers thousands of young people a space in which they can grow as dance performers, artists and leaders. We will constantly question and evaluate the way we work, offer engaging activities that build young peoples understanding of dance and encourage personal skills such as self-confidence, teamwork, self-motivation and the ability to evaluate choices.
Step into Dance is delivered by the RAD and made possible through a partnership with the Jack Petchey Foundation.
The RAD is a dynamic organisation dedicated to advancing standards of dance education teaching, promoting and investing in the development of dance worldwide.
The RAD will be moving to a new and exciting venue at 188 York Road, London SW11 3JZ in the final quarter of 2021. The RAD is currently located at 36 Battersea Square, London SW11 3RA. The move will ensure the RAD is able to deepen the current relationships it has within the community of Wandsworth, London, regionally and across the globe furthering offerings as a leader in dance. This is a hugely exciting opportunity to join the RAD at this stage in our strategic plan.
