About you

You’ll be an ambitious, proactive, strategic communicator with an entrepreneurial mindset, looking to make your mark in a creative communications leadership role. You’re someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves and ensure Youth Music capitalises on their recent growth by strengthening Youth Music’s brand, amplifying their messaging and building new audiences.

You’ll be bold and passionate and you’ll have previous experience of creating impactful campaigns on issues that matter to you. You’ll be inspired by the idea of empowering young people to tell the stories of their lives in music.

Youth Music’s business plan is being redeveloped to meet their growing ambitions. The Communications Manager will be central to developing and driving the communications strategy over the next 12 months, so the successful candidate will have the opportunity to really make their mark. It’s an exciting position, as they expand their strategy and team, with scope to engage new audiences and put young people at the centre of our work.

The role has oversight of all communications functions at Youth Music including content, marketing, digital, campaigns, PR and evaluation. Working across all teams in the 22-person organisation, the Communications Manager role will be about ensuring that everything fits together both operationally and strategically.

12 month fixed term contract. Currently working from home.

Youth Music works with children and young people aged 0-25, using the power of music to support musical, personal and social development. As a funder, they invest in around 300 projects each year, reaching more than 80,000 young people and over 4,000 people in the workforce.

Salary: £35,000 negotiable
