Lewisham are looking for a local filmmaker that can carry out Vox Pop style interviews to be uploaded on social media, create a call out opportunity suitable across multiple platforms (Instagram, twitter, web) with the goal to encourage local people to upload their own videos, create a short (not longer than 3 min) social media ready video with the results.

The videos need to capture a selection of different Lewisham people and allow people that arent familiar with Lewisham to better understand what makes it unique and why people that live here love it so much.
What we would like to be explored The videos should be a celebration of Lewisham and peoples emotional connection to the place. What do people love about Lewisham, if they have chosen Lewisham as their home why was that? How does Lewisham make you feel at home? How does the unique mix of our communities make Lewisham special? Why are you proud of Lewisham? How does being in Lewisham allow you to express yourself? How does belonging in Lewisham make you feel?
Budget: The total budget allocation is £1,500 (+VAT if applicable). This should include all costs.
Proposal and Budget Breakdown Applicants need to submit a project plan (no more than 500 words) detailing how you would go about the project. Who would you interview and why, where would you go in the borough? Would you speak to people at an event, in the street or in their group, club or school? We will be able to support the successful filmmaker with access to people and places but would also like your ideas up front. We would love your ideas on how the flavour of the borough could be captured on video.
Timescale:
29 July 2019 – Deadline for proposals and web links to be submitted
2 Aug 2019 – Shortlisted applications confirmed
6 Aug 2019 – Interviews and appointment
6 Aug 28 October – Filmmaking period and social media push
7th October 2019 – Final video submitted
Please send in your proposal including budget breakdown and a web link to your showreel no later than 29 July 2019 to boroughofculture@lewisham.gov.uk.
Note: Filmmaker will need an up to date DBS check to be eligible for this project, we can support you on how to get this. Lewisham will retain the rights to film and to be given original material as well as the edited finished piece. Filmmaker must be comfortable in getting consent forms from people used in filming.
