Call out for digital artists working online who self-identify as disabled, arebyte

Developed in partnership with Shape Arts, Open Screen is arebyte’s yearly open call for digital artists working online to be exhibited on arebyte on Screen, an expanded and innovative online platform for digital animations, videos, web-based interactive experiences and curatorial interventions.

Deadline: 13th June 2021

Open Until:

Posted: 06/10/2021

arebyte welcomes artists who are working with technology to their advantage, or overcoming barriers, criticising matters of inclusivity within technology, and everything in between.

Open Screen is actively aiming to address an area of underrepresentation in the art industry with proposals exploring the role of digital technologies and the new opportunities it creates or hinders; from experiments in augmented, virtual and mixed reality, to fake news, online bots, social media, darknet and deep fakes.

Our panel of judges selects two proposals for Open Screen. The judging panel for this year includes Julian Lee (General Manager of Everyone Can), Mark Stokes (Digital Artist), Nimrod Vardi (Founder and Creative Director at arebyte) and Rebecca Edwards (Curator at arebyte).

Each selected artist receives an £850 artist fee to develop the work, with curatorial support from arebyte.
