Call Out! Artist Sharing and Audition with Folk Dance Remixed

We are hosting an artist sharing day where dancers will have the chance to learn some street & folk dance styles and beat boxers will collaborate with musicians. It’s a fantastic opportunity to join in a creative, inspiring and fun FREE workshop day and meet new artists. You can audition or not. We are always widening our diverse company pool of artists, and this day is an opportunity to show us your work and how you might fit in with the team and our ethos. We are particularly interested in applicants who have a Global Majority heritage/background. For clarity we recognise Global Majority as a term for people that includes people of Indigenous, African, Caribbean, East Asian, South Asian, South East Asian, Latin American, mixed heritage and other ethnic groups who are often racialised as ‘ethnic minorities.

Audition
We are remounting our family show, Step Hop House, and developing our Street Dance the Maypole workshops and Ceilidh Jams. We’ve had more than 10 years of hugely successful summer tours so far and we’re looking forward to making 2025 the best yet! Specifically for 2025, we are looking for a bassist, beatboxer and up to 4 professional dancers. You must have at least 3 years’ experience in one/some of the following styles, and are also open to learning the other styles within the show. Locking/Krump/Breaking/Popping/ Whacking/Cotswold Morris/Percussive dance (Appalachian/Irish/tap)
6 Days Pencilled Rehearsals, 10am – 6pm: Mon 3 – Wed 5 March Mon 24 – Wed 26 March Show dates are mostly weekends, touring across the country, with dates coming in throughout the summer.

If you would like to audition, and are available for all the dates so far, please send up to 3 links, CV and a short paragraph of 100 words as to why you’d like to be involved and what you will bring to the show and
company. A current DBS will be a requirement to work with us.
