Call for Submissions for Arts Connect, the arts-in-health programme for Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust

We are delighted to announce a Call for Submissions from illustrators, artists and graphic designers for Arts Connect, the arts-in-health programme for Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. For this opportunity we are looking for an artist who can work digitally as the final designs will be printed on vinyl for walls and windows, as well as paper for framed works.

Arts Connect uses visual art and design to enhance the healing environment in the wards, clinics and departments across the Trust, which includes University Hospital Lewisham and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich.

We commission artists to produce work site-specifically in response to the needs of the patients and the hospital environment, our latest project is a new art/design scheme for the Intensive Care Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

It is important that you have the following:
• A genuine interest in the way the arts can be used to support health and wellbeing.
• Willingness to go through a public consultation process for the development of designs, working with staff and patients from wide-ranging backgrounds.
• Experience of producing commissioned work, ideally for the built environment but this isn’t essential.

We have already undertaken extensive consultation with staff, patients and visitors so we will provide clear direction on subject matter, colour palette etc. for the appointed artist.

The artist’s fee for the project is £2,500 (incl. VAT if this payable). There is a separate
budget for production and installation of the work, which will be managed by the
