Greenwich and Lewisham Young People's Theatre are offering two artist residencies at The Tramshed in Woolwich between June and July 2018. This season focuses on festivals, outdoor work and young audiences. As such, we are looking to support one artist or company to create a new outdoor piece (July 2018), and one to create work for a secondary school audience (June 2018).
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: 5pm on 10th April 2018
Open Until:
Posted: 10/03/2022
GLYPT’s residencies are aimed at young and emerging companies and artists (aged 18 to 29), who feel they would benefit from space and support for a specific piece of performance work. We would like to hear from artists who are making work that is exciting, innovative and unique. Work can be devised, scripted, dance, physical theatre, interdisciplinary were open to all ideas!
Residencies include a week of free space, either in GLYPTs studio or theatre, as well as mentoring and advice on creative process and development. They culminate in a public performance.
As part of our ongoing development support for artists, there may be future opportunities to further develop work created as part of this residency, which may include financial support and programming opportunities.
These residencies are part of GLYPTs Progression programme. Funded by Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and Arts Council England, Progression is a programme of training, projects and performance opportunities for creative young people, alongside developmental support for young and emerging artists.
