ward assembly.

The New
Cross Assembly has previously supported local
projects including:

project to raise awareness of the danger of carrying knives for primary school
    children.
  • Mentoring,
theatre and photography projects for young people.
  • Funding
toward the New Cross & Deptford Free Film Festival.
  • IT
courses & employability support for unemployed adults.
  • Music
project to improve confidence & mental health.

How much is available? ~ There is £12,500
available for New Cross and the maximum amount that you can apply for £2,000.

What can it be spent on? ~ It must benefit New
Cross and be linked to at least one of the below New Cross assembly priorities,
these are:

  • Activities for older people & tackling social isolation
  • Housing developments & the built environment
  • Health, wellbeing & community safety

I have an idea, but I’ve never done this and
I’m not part of an organisation
~ We want to help, tell us your idea and
we’ll work with you.

How do I apply? ~ It is simple,
complete the application form which will be available to download from September

What else do I need to know? ~ The fund opens on
Wednesday 6th September and closes on Monday 30th October 2016 at 12.00 noon. The Coordinating Group will then
to meet to discuss all the applications to decide the following:

  • Does
the application meet one or more of the priorities?
  • Is
it value money and are the costs reasonable?
  • Is
there a need for this project?

Successful
applications will then take place in a market place where residents can vote on
which projects get the funding. This will take place at assembly meeting in
