Applications open for Clore Leadership Programme – Emerging Leaders Course

Applications are now open for the Clore Leadership Programme's Emerging Leaders course, which is aimed at early stage arts professionals with between 2-5 years’ experience of managing projects and people in the cultural sector, who are either already in leadership positions or have the potential to be leaders in the future.

The course provides a great opportunity to learn and practice leadership skills in a challenging but supportive environment and to network with people from a broad range of sectors.

What is it?
The Emerging Leaders Course is a 5-day residential course aimed at early stage career arts professionals, providing an opportunity to learn and practice leadership skills in a challenging and supportive environment.

Who is it for?
The course is for people in the early stages of their career who have between 2- 5 years paid experience of initiating and/or managing projects in the arts and cultural sector and with the ambition to lead in the cultural sector.

What will I gain from attending?
Previous course participants reported the following as benefits of taking part in the course:

  • increased confidence in their own leadership ability
  • increased motivation around career
  • a better understanding of leadership styles
  • greater self-awareness

The course also provides opportunities for networking with and learning from peers from across a broad range of organisations and sectors. Following the course we provide an opportunity to be mentored by a Clore Fellow over three sessions.

Fee Structure
The cost for each participant on the Emerging Leaders course including tuition, accommodation and meals, is:

  • Band A = £450 + VAT – For those nominated by an organisation employing 1 – 10 people, or nominating themselves
  • Band B = £900 + VAT – For those nominated by an organisation employing 11 – 75 people or nominating themselves
  • Band C = £900 + VAT – For those nominated by an organisation employing more than 75 people

Eligibility

  • The Emerging Leaders Course is open to EU nationals living in or outside the UK, and to EU residents.
  • To be eligible to apply you must be able to demonstrate that you have between 2 – 5 years’ experience of managing projects and people. The Emerging Leaders Course will most benefit early-stage career arts professionals.

Selection Process

  • Applicants will be selected for the course in such a way that the broadest range of backgrounds possible is achieved – be that in terms of artform, gender, race or geography. Quality of application will also be considered in determining our final decision.
  • Only one application will be considered from the same cultural organisation for any one course.
  • We will contact you to acknowledge receipt of your application and will notify you of our decision by the deadline given.
  • Approval of the selected candidates is made by the Director of the Clore Leadership Programme whose decision is final.
