A New Direction is working with 5 other Regional Bridge Organisations, as part of the Bridge England Network to deliver Strong Voices. The project is funded by the Department for Education’s (DfE) Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) funding programme, and is targeted towards the 6% most vulnerable and disadvantaged 13-19 year olds in England.

The aim of the DfE VCS funding is to focus and develop local services to support improved outcomes for these young people. This work is being directly delivered by 5 of the Bridge organisation within the Bridge England Network.

A New Direction is seeking to work with a freelance project manager to co-ordinate the delivery of this programme.

The programme coordinator will work to deliver against the aims of Strong Voices, supporting the planning, delivery and implementation of a London-wide programme – working with organisations such as London Youth to ensure that the most disadvantaged and vulnerable young people have access to arts and culture.

The co-ordination will also involve ensuring regional delivery matches to National targets and ambitions. This programme of activity will build a legacy of knowledge and skills to sustain opportunities for the most vulnerable young people to engage with and benefit from cultural activities.

The programme co-ordinator will have access to hot desk facilities, where necessary at A New Direction’s offices. The co-ordinator will have a role in ensuring that the programme meets its targets, and ensure the delivery of a successful, high profile programme.

Project Timeline:

July 2013 – March 2015 (21 months)

Programme Co-ordination Fee:

A New Direction envisages this contract for 150 days over 21 months, based on a day rate of £200. This fee amount is inclusive of VAT (where charged) and covers all reasonable expenses incurred during the project. A New Direction also recognises that due to the nature of the work there will need to be a degree of flexibility involved in the allocation of days, accommodating times where there will be peaks and troughs of activity.
