Artist Facilitator – Partner School Project
The Learning team at the National Maritime Museum is seeking an artist facilitator to develop an art project as part of our annual Partner School programme. This work will be planned in the Autumn Term (Sept-Dec 2024) and delivered in Spring Term 2025. Our partner schools for 2024/25 are Newhaven specialist school and King’s Oak school.
To best represent the themes of the work and the students taking part in the project, we encourage applicants from historically marginalised and global majority groups to apply for this role.
Ideally the practitioner would also have experience working with young people either in Pupil Referral Unit settings or with young people who have Social Emotional and Mental Health needs.

Learning Practitioner – Windrush Schools Development
The National Maritime Museum Learning team and the National Windrush Museum are working in partnership to develop a Windrush-themed onsite schools session for primary school pupils aged 7 to 11 years (Key Stage 2).
We are seeking a learning practitioner to work with the partnership to develop the Windrush Schools session.
The successful candidate will work closely with the National Maritime Museum Schools Learning Producer and the National Windrush Museum to:
- Design, plan and resource session activities
- Research and acquire handling collection and resources specifically for use in the session
- Pilot session activities with KS2 school focus groups and make necessary updates in response to their feedback
- Evaluate session content against agreed learning outcomes
- Recruit and train learning facilitators to deliver the session during the academic year 2025/26 and beyond
We are actively recruiting a practitioner for this project with Windrush community lived experience.
