Youth Event Moonshot


SMASHfestUK 2016: Solar Storm
THE FESTIVAL SMASHfestUK returns to Deptford with its unique mash-up festival of science and art, engineering and entertainment, music and maths, comedy and technology. Events this year revolve around the story of a super solar storm heading for London, set to destroy our electrical and electronic infrastructure. Come down and join the SMASHfestUK team on an adventure to prepare, rebuild and be entertained. Featuring the Mutant Generation Unit, Comedy Club for Kids, Space Weather, UV & Me, Aardman animation techniques, Shows, Games, Making, Virtual Reality and the fabulous Flamsteed Astronomers. Youth Classes We have a range of fun and creative, weekly classes that will improve your technique and skill in dance. There are a number of performance opportunities throughout the year and classes are available to you no matter your ability. For the more experienced contemporary dancer there is the Laban Youth Dance Company, which you can audition for at the beginning of each academic year.

Blaze and Explode: Free Girls and Boys Dance Taster Days at Trinity Laban
Blaze and Explode are free dance taster days for girls and boys aged 11–16 years, a chance to come and try dance workshops in different styles and watch exciting performances by all-female and all-male dance artists.  All the workshops are suitable for beginners, as well as those with dance experience.  Both days run from 10am-5pm.

Dancing Ahead – Free Weekly Creative Dance Classes
This weekly dance class will build your dance skills and confidence levels through fun, creative dance activities. You will work with young people of a similar age to develop your own choreography to share with friends and family.
These classes are intended to support Young People to build resilience. 
Dates: Sessions take place every Tuesday, 17:15 – 18:30

Bellingham Beats – Free Creative Dance Classes for 5 – 13 year olds
Short blurb Taking place every Wednesday during term time, this fun class will help you to develop your dance skills and work with friends. Bellingham Beats performs at least once every term and each term is closed with a celebration party for friends and family. No dance experience required!

Felix's School of Rock - February Half Term. FSOR is an intense 4-day programme for children and teens, 9-16 yrs old, to learn, write and play rock, pop & soul music in a band. The adventure includes a band photo session, a YouTubed dress rehearsal and a big gig in front of fans, family and friends.  Step Up Young Touring Company. Act Dance Sing! With Montage Theatre Arts. Emergency Exit Arts: Street Arts Academy
The Street Arts Academy is Emergency Exit Arts weekly enrichment programme for young people aged 13-19. The Street Arts Academy focuses on creating outdoor theatre - surprising spectacles that take place in and around public spaces. Our dynamic collective perform in parks, city centres, galleries, museums and anywhere they can!
