My comics and picture book workshops have the power to engage pupils with writing, character creation and drawing, and can be designed to tie in with curriculum topics of your choice.

Choose from comics or picture book workshops with optional curriculum themes such as heroes and villains, myths and legends or the Stone Age. I also provide sessions for World Book Day and literacy and arts weeks, and I can support your school's Artsmark journey.

In a typical session I show the group my books and demonstrate how I create characters. I introduce them to some inspiring illustrated fiction then teach them to draw a character step-by-step. I take the group through the fundamentals of character creation, then support them in creating original characters and either comic strips or picture book plans.

I include printable resources such as planning and evaluation sheets for pupils, comic templates and guidance notes for teachers. I am on the DBS update service and I have Public Liability Insurance.
