Chickenshed, in partnership with Shared Vision UK, presents a conference and debate on issues related to social exclusion, gang involvement, knife crime and other relevant matters.

Date: Friday 24 May 1.30pm-5pm
Cost: £50 (includes conference and performance at 7pm)
Location: Chickenshed, Chase Side, London, N14 4PE

Date: 29/03/2024 – 29/03/2024

Time:13:30

During the conference you will see a preview of Chickenshed’s newest anti-gang Outreach production ‘Day 1 – Big School’ aimed at children transitioning from primary school to secondary school.

Using extracts from Crime of the Century (Chickenshed’s powerful performance work on social exclusion issues) to pose questions and feeding in responses to Chickenshed’s youth voice work, the day will offer the opportunity to explore social exclusion and to offer a vision for the future of inclusion.

Conference delegates will be invited to contribute positively – either by raising further questions, raising starting points for solutions or to add in any way to the conversation.

Conference Questions

  • What do young people know, understand and fear about social exclusion?
  • What can young people and professionals working with young people contribute to their own social inclusion future?

Crime of the Century is a production that explores the issues surrounding gang violence and anti-youth stereotyping. The production has toured for ten years to over 500 venues, performed in 600 productions to 75,000+ audience members.
