Help us design the Silk River Project
Community groups, artists and individuals, living and working in Royal Greenwich, are invited to participate in an exciting and ambitious project celebrating the links between London, England and Kolkata, India.
Delivered by Kinetika, the Silk River project combines talking, making, walking and storytelling with traditional Indian design techniques to craft beautiful Silk Panels which will feature in a 10 day London wide procession coming to Royal Greenwich in September 2017.
Silk River will work with an international team of contemporary and traditional artists, writers and photographers and aims to reinterpret a shared heritage and raise cultural awareness of the Indo-British relationship.
Representatives from local* community groups, arts organisations and interested local residents and artists are invited to join us for the Silk River exploration meeting which will provide you with an opportunity to find out more about the project; think about how you would like to be involved and help us plan the project to suit you and the local area.
This will be the start of a year of artistic exchange between communities along the Thames (England) and Hooglhy (India) rivers.
