Research in Early Childhood Music: A whistle-stop tour!

In this twilight session, Dr Sue Young will give a very short introduction to the basic principles and processes of research in early childhood music.

Date: 08/10/2024 – 08/10/2024

Time:04:30

An event by Sound Connections:

Carrying out research, finding out about research and applying it to practice, can be one of the most interesting aspects of a professional early childhood music educator’s role.

We will talk about the why, when and how of research. We will discuss how to ‘read’ research findings and the difference between research and evaluation. We will talk about the application of research to practice. All the discussion will be illustrated with examples of up-to-date research studies in early childhood music.

To squeeze these large topic areas into one twilight session is ambitious – so please be ready for possible information overload! The session is intended to be a solid introduction that might encourage you to move on to more in-depth study of research processes.
