Next meeting for the Arts and Resilience Community of Practice

Visit to Horniman Museum and Gardens and GLYPT.

Date: 20/04/2024 – 20/04/2024

Time:16:15

For this meeting, we will observe a WHATEVER Youth Theatre session, a partnership
between GLYPT and the Horniman Museum and Gardens. This supportive drama programme is for
vulnerable young people who have or are at risk of developing mental
health problems. The sessions start with Safe Space for the young people to
unwind, chat or have some quiet time before the sessions begin. The sessions
incorporate the collection at Horniman within drama practice. We will be
watching the session for 8-11s and hopefully Safe Space for 11-14s if there is
time.

Rather than passive observers, we may
well be involved in some way – so expect to join in! We won’t do
anything scary; possibly join in with a couple of games or activities so that
the young people feel less observed.

GLYPT and Horniman would like the round-up to reflect on the
session and are keen to hear your thoughts.

Please arrive at museum front entrance
4:15pm.

This session is RSVP only. Please email Elizabeth (below) if you can attend .

Who is it for?

  • Those who have attended a previous meeting or the symposium last year
  • Artist practitioners interested in Arts and Resilience with Children and Young People

If you feel this is relevant to your work in arts learning, and live/work in Lewisham, please email Elizabeth with a short expression of interest paragraph.

This programme will run until September 2016

Lewisham Education Arts Network and Trinity Laban Conservatoire
of Music and Dance invited artists and creatives to come together to build a
Community of Practice (CoP) as part of our SPARC project. This is funded by HeadStart Lewisham.
