Nesta – FutureFest 2016 event

FutureFest 2016: exploring how we'll love, work, play and thrive in the future.

Date: 29/05/2024 – 29/05/2024

Future love will see body technologist and researcher Ghislaine Boddington test the most universal of all emotions – exploring what happens to romance, dating, identity and even skin when we move beyond the physical and merge with the virtual.

Future work sets the scene for British entrepreneur and inventor Ruth Amos to ask what does the workforce culture, environment and technology of the future look like and what place will it hold in our lives?

Future thrive enables food futurologist Dr Morgaine Gaye to take event attendees on an experiential and sensory journey – exploring the health, wellness, tech and food that will help us to thrive in the future.

Future play sees musician and writer Pat Kane (lead curator of FutureFest 2013/2015) address how play and games are the building-blocks of human creativity and explore how new technologies – whether digital, robotic or biological – are amplifying our appetite for experiment and competition.
