Learning Beyond the Classroom

A Kings College London Event, bringing together researchers and practitioners from a variety of different sub-disciplines related to Psychology and Learning to consider the ways that learning happens in the real world, beyond the classroom.

Date: 23/04/2024 – 23/04/2024

Time:09:00

The Learning Beyond the Classroom conference, sponsored by the British
Journal of Educational Psychology (BJEP).

It is well known that
learners spend more time outside the classroom than they do within it.
There is a great deal of research about learning that takes place in
non-classroom environments. And yet, many of the people researching in
different areas seldom speak to one another. At this event, researchers
will discuss motivation, expertise, learning and development across
paradigms of cognitive psychology, ecological perspectives on learning,
education and organisational psychology and across learning topics such
as games, music, science and language. In addition, there will be the
opportunity for participants to engage with practitioners, students and
academics to understand more about they ways that learners connect with
different experiences in various parts of their lives.
