Showing the vast range of careers available within the music industry, this event brings experts from a variety of fields for quick fire 20 min talks about their roles followed by 10 minutes of open discussion/ Q&A with the audience. Get ready to learn more about their day to day and come armed with any questions you have! Ever wondered what a music director does each day or what the most challenging part of the role is... well this is the place to ask!

After a successful autumn Careers Day, we are back with our spring session as part of National Careers Week bringing you more sessions and speakers telling you about their career journey, current day to day role and answering your burning questions.
We kick off with a music business session followed by our usual quick fire presentations and Q&A slots after lunch. All are welcome.
ITINERARY
11am-12pm Silvia Gargiulo – HOW TO GET A JOB IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS // Prove Your Passion on Paper
Join Silvia Gargiulo, Founder of BIY People & Talent and former top recruiter at Universal Music, to find out how to get a job in the business side of the music industry, from record labels to artist management, publishing to streaming and everything in between! In a competitive industry like music, it can be difficult to know where to start, this session will focus on creating and delivering a CV and cover letter to get you noticed, decoding job specs, and managing your social media presence. (Please note this session is not geared for artists or producers but focussed on music business roles)

1pm -1.30pm Talk 1: Jenny Grib – Curation and Programming Manager looking after playlisting and catalogue at Lickd, a platform providing YouTube creators with access to music from major record companies that is pre-cleared so won’t cause copyright issues.
1.30pm-2pm Talk 2: Dobs Vye – Media Composer, creating music for TV series, branding, and media.
2pm-2.30pm: Talk 3: Quantz Ramdin – Professional session musician who’s toured the world extensively with Mimi Webb and played with Ella Eyre, Anne Marie and Big Zuu.

3pm-3.30pm: Talk 4: Terry Felgate – Music Marketer, who has worked in senior marketing roles at Parlophone, EMI and BMG with experience across all channels – digital, social networks, D2C.
