AGILE Volunteering Conference

Volunteer Centre Lewisham is holding a conference on 1st June 2015 10am-4pm aimed at local voluntary and community organisations.

The theme is AGILE  Volunteering,  looking
at volunteering from a range of perspectives:  Activity, Giving,
Inclusivity, Leadership and Experience.

We will have speakers from the CCG and regional and national
organisations, inspiring you to think about how volunteering works in your

A   is for Activity .  We will have a choice
of workshops: one on
partnerships and collaboration and how we can work with health and social care
sector and a second to challenge your thinking of how volunteering works, does it have to be a set
time each week and within a specific place?

G is for Giving.    We will be giving you
badges and certificates that you can give out to your volunteers. There will be information stands with all important FREEBIES

I is for Inclusivity.   What are the barriers
within your organisation that stop people from becoming volunteers?

L is for Leadership.  A choice of 2 workshops:

  1. Political leadership and representation at ward level
  2. Trustees and what makes it difficult to get Trustees

E is for Experience.   Come and hear from people
and organisations about how volunteering has helped them.


There will also be a
talk from Keep Volunteering Voluntary looking at the
difficulties facing benefit claimants who are forced to ‘ volunteer’
