A New Direction Marketplace: Arts & Cultural Organisations and Schools

A New Direction would like to invite 35 arts and cultural organisations from a range of contexts (including museums, galleries, libraries and archives, and other cultural settings) and art forms to support our upcoming Schools Marketplace event.

This event aims to respond to schools’ requests for an
opportunity to meet arts & cultural organisations, and to encourage them to
build new partnerships as they prepare to apply for Artsmark.

Interested organisations are invited to complete the
Expression of Interest form below to enable A New Direction to select
representatives from a wide range of organisations.

This event is intended to be a way for schools to find new opportunities
for their staff and pupils across London, and to discover how organisations are
able to tailor their work to meet schools’ needs. We are also keen to ensure
that attending organisations are able to support schools with Artsmark (when it
relaunches) and Arts Award – priority will be given to
Arts Award Supporter organisations when participants are selected. To find out

Becoming an Arts Award Supporter is free of charge and takes very little time.

The Marketplace will be run as a drop-in event from 4pm to
6pm. Set-up will be from 3.30. In order to participate in the event you should
be available for its full duration. As part of the event, A New Direction will
provide:

–         
A small display area for materials for each
organisation (NB this really is a small
area – half a table, ie about 3 feet. This is so that we can fit in as many
organisations as possible
)

–         
Space to display a banner

–         
Refreshments

It will
not be possible to plug in electronic devices or sound.

Priority
will also be given to organisations that have not previously participated in a
marketplace event, so that schools meet more new potential partners.

If you are
interested in contributing to this event, please complete the expression of
interest form attached and return it by email by 5pm on Friday 12 December 2014. Successful organisations
will be contacted by Friday 19 December 2014 to confirm details.
