Create Space for Change – 23 March 2023
A place for brewing good ideas to shape the creative sector
A New Direction’s Space for Change cohort warmly invites you to take some time and share a brew. This event is a welcoming space for anyone working with children and young people across the creative sector. It is an invitation to pause, re-charge, share good practice and develop fresh insights
Over the past 6 months a group of cultural sector leaders have been taking part in our peer learning programme, Space for Change, which explores current challenges facing the sector. It is designed for leaders in the field of creative learning who want to do things differently, improve their work and seek inspiration from their peers. The group has been exploring how to make inclusive, equitable and sustainable work.
You are invited to hear and take part in their enquiries around the themes of:
- Radical Rest
- Healing and Self care
- Co-creation
- Sustainable working with freelancers
The cohort are Arts Emergency, British Museum, Bow Arts, Drawing Room, Global Learning London, Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, National Youth Theatre, Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, Young Vic and freelance practitioners, Jess McDermott, Maria Amidu (Listener-in-Residence) and Sheryl Malcom (Programme Facilitator).
Where: The Lighthouse and Gardens, 38 Celebration Avenue, Stratford, London, E20 1DB
When: 23 March 10am – 12pm (doors open at 9.45am)
Please note: although tickets to this event are free, they are limited, so if you are no longer able to make the event, please cancel your ticket to make space for another guest. If you have any questions or queries please contact Bibi.
You can also contribute to the content of the event in two ways!:
- Take the Radical Rest survey
- Contribute to the Zine by responding in your own way to these two questions: 1) What does healing mean to you? 2) Where do you go to find healing? – Responses can be sent to bibi.francis@anewdirection.org.uk by the 23rd Feb!
