A Day in the Life of an Arts Fundraiser

“A day in the life…” brings together leading professional arts fundraisers who will o8er firsthand insights into all aspects of arts fundraising, including strategies for securing major gifts, approaches to corporate partnerships, lifelong giving (including legacy gifts) and the craft of successful grant writing. Speakers will also explore how they navigate ethical challenges in fundraising, from maintaining transparency and donor integrity to balancing artistic vision with funding demands. Attendees will gain valuable knowledge on donor stewardship, relationship-building, and the key techniques that drive impactful fundraising, alongside honest reflections and tips of the trade. The panel will also discus arts fundraising as an exciting, exhilarating and creative career within the arts, giving examples from their own career journeys.
The format will be an informal in-conversation with panelists, who will go beyond the ‘technical how-to’ to draw from their own experience and share stories of successes and challenges, do’s and don’ts, with time for audience Q&A before a social networking opportunity after the session.
The event brings together students from our MA Arts Administration and Cultural Policy programme, MA Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship and BA Arts Management, as well as fundraising or other sta8 members from our arts and cuture partners who input into our programme through placements, visits and student talks. The networking event provides a great opportunity for current students to network with the panelists and with others with fundraising responsibilities in their organisations.
