To be eligible for a position on the Apprenticeship scheme you must:

•    Be over the age of 16 and under the age of 25
•    Not have already achieved a qualification higher than a level 3 – please note we cannot accept applications from graduates
•   
Have full residency entitlement, there must be no restrictions on your
status in the UK (all successful candidates will need to produce their
passport once a job offer is made)
•    Have GSCE A* – C in English
and Maths or the equivalent ability (all potential applicants will be
expected to complete an initial assessment at a local college)
•    These roles are based in the London Borough of Lewisham and candidates must be resident in the borough

The Apprentice’s duties will include

You will be proactive in selling our spaces as well as developing
good relationships with our existing and potential new bookers. You will
be providing front-line customer service on a daily basis, dealing with
enquiries and space bookings, process administrative tasks and
payments, help to run events, ensuring technical and health and safety
requirements are met, and collect and record feedback and statistical
information from our visitors.

What we are looking for

•    Motivated, with a positive work ethic and a ‘can-do’ attitude
that demonstrates the ability to work proactively and to achieve set
goals

•    Willing and keen to learn and to work towards a career in
business development and sales within events management or the arts
sector

•    Enthusiasm, passion and interest for developing business
partnerships both new and old, pro-active customer service, executing
events and arts program and their marketing

•    IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word,
Outlook and adept to the use of digital and social media to a
professional standard

What you will learn

•    Experience and knowledge of the sales process
•    Delivering marketing and sales campaigns
•    Effectiveness of personalised customer service 
•    Time and diary management
•    Payment handling, invoicing process and administration
•    Hands-on event set-up and organisation
•    Team-working and co-ordination of day-to-day operations

 Reality check

This is neither a full-time sales/admin job nor an events management
role but will allow you to do a ‘bit of everything’ which will be
desk-based as well as hands-on, so a pro-active and can-do attitude is
needed. You would have to be equally content completing paperwork as
spending the day on your feet. This opportunity will give you variety on
the job but you need to be well-organised in order to keep track of
what you have going on. You need to be able to take responsibility for
your workload and to use your own initiative. The better you get on with
routine day-to-day tasks, the more varied the jobs will be.

Salary: £6.70 per hour

Location: Deptford Lounge
Contract Length: 12-months

Qualification: you will be working towards Level 3 qualification in Business Administration

Days / Hours: 35 per week including release for college; you will be expected to work flexibly, and this will include evenings and weekends
