Person Specification

  • You will be an experienced teacher/facilitator committed to the full 10 weeks of sessions, not taking any other work during this period that may clash or mean withdrawal from contract.
  • You must genuinely enjoy working with children, young people and adults, with relevant teaching experience, preferably in musical theatre and with all these age ranges.
  • You will have good references with a formal teaching qualification such as an ISTD (ideal) or RAD Associate and/or extensive experience in leading workshops and shows, particularly in musical theatre.
  • You must have proven experience teaching children under 5 years to 16 years.
  • Proven choreographic skills essential.
  • You must have a vision in choosing show numbers in collaboration with the teachers from other disciplines.
  • You must be highly organised and meet deadlines for course preparation.
  • You must be effective and prompt in communication with the office and with any administration that may be required.
  • You must be police checked with an Enhanced DBS Check, although this can be done once position is taken if not done already.

Other Details

Salary:                  £24 p/h  (£90 each Saturday session includes a 15 minute unpaid break)
Location:             Prendergast Hilly Fields College, Adelaide Avenue, Brockley, SE4 1LE
