Greenwich and Lewisham Young People’s Theatre (GLYPT): Lewisham Arts College brings you three weeks of FREE arts courses this summer holiday. Whether you’re looking to develop existing talents or to try something new, there are a range of exciting creative courses to choose from. Choose one course a week and design your perfect creative summer! For young people who live or go to school in Lewisham. Acting, Spoken Word, Singing & Songwriting, Filmmaking, Musical Theatre, Music Production, Circus & Street Dance.
Where: Stall: Yellow area, Y30. Come talk to us at our stall and find out the full course information (we have an outdoor pitch)

LEAN will have a stall outside the Music Hub stage and we will have lots of leaflets and information on arts activities in Lewisham for children and young people. Come and say hi! You can also find out more about what we do supporting the arts in Lewisham.

Uncover Music and The Albany present the Big Top takeover
MCs, DJs and bands: Uncover Music and the Albany takeover the Big Top stage at this year’s Peoples Day for three hours of DJ’s, MC’s and some of the best bands from South East London. Performers include Joose Box, Thidius, Sub Luna City and Jire. The Midi Music Company will have a stall to talk about their activities with children, young people and adults to explore music.  United Vibrations will be performing at The Big Top Stage at 5.30. Members of the band work with Midi Music’s CICAS® advice service and as tutors.
Where:  Stall in Blue area, B17 and The Big Top stage, Yellow area.
 
Montage Theatre Arts, a revenue funded charity, present a Children’s Song and Dance 40 minute showcase, ages 5 – 16 years and visit their stall for information on their activities and summer programme. 
Where: 12:15 – 12:55pm on the Dance for Life Stage. Stall in Red area, R28.

2. COMBINED CREATIVE/ VISUAL ART AND DESIGN/ FILM-MAKING:

The Youth Panel at Horniman’s Curious Tea Party
Test your triceps at Tug of War and excel at Egg and Spoon in our old fashioned Sports Day then cool off and savour our special Suffragette Sangria. All to the sounds of live jazz, performances, dance and other curious oddities!

IRIE! Family Fun Day
There will be loads of events for individuals of all ages to enjoy including African and Caribbean Dance workshops, Drumming workshops, a Boxercise workshop and  Five-a-side football. There will be face painting, a bouncy castle, an under 5s play area. There will be hot and spicy barbecue among other tempting morsels to satisfy those hunger pangs and music will be provided by the Rebel Lion Sound System. –

The Albany, Summer Arts
Three weeks of fun, performances and evening extras. This action-packed project includes intensive week-long courses, guest artists, and a chance to perform at the end of each week, right on the main stage of the Albany.

THE MIDI MUSIC COMPANY Beatz Family 
A recording and songwriting project for 11-15, 16-19 year olds with an emphasis on creative collaboration in the form of writing, performing, and planning. Youth work and music professionals will aide you in create, recording, and performing your own songs. The project will also include video documentary skills and the production of a DVD. We are seeking creativity and commitment.
Date: Running throughout the year, Wednesdays 6-8pm

Lewisham Arts College: Turning Words into Dreams; Spoken Word and Poetry
Run by London Urban Arts Academy
Discovering and exploring the world of Spoken Word and Poetry! You will develop your lyrical and performance skills. You will learn, practically, how to unleash the writer within, how to create your own pieces and deliver a strong performance.  During this course you will be collaborating with the TWID singers towards an explosive showcase on Friday! Run by London Urban Arts Academy
Throughout this course you will learn how to collaboratively 'create a track' from scratch, this includes composing your sound-track, lyrics, melodies and recording your vocals towards a performance. You will be working alongside industry professional music producers who will mentor, guide and support you on your musical journey. You will leave the course feeling technically confident with a sense of pride and achievement for what you are about to create. Ages 13-19 FREE

Magpie Dance: INCLUSIVE DANCE SESSIONS – ALL ABILITIES WELCOME
Magpie Dance are delighted to announce a brand new class for young learning disabled people aged 11yrs+ which opens in January 2014. The sessions will be held on Saturday mornings from 10:30am-12:30pm (for 16-25yrs) and 1pm-2:30pm (for 11-15yrs), and for new participants it’s only £5 per session for the first term – first session is free.
